About the editor

I have a BA (Hons) in English language. Before becoming freelance in 2001, I worked as a production editor for three years, where I learned first-hand about what makes a good freelance. Clients include: Oxford University Press Nelson Thornes Collins Education Paternoster Press/Authentic Media Continuum

I have been a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders for three years – previously under the name of Helen Bannister Editorial Services. The Society is dedicated to upholding editorial excellence, a goal that all editors should aspire to.

I have attended many courses on editing and proofreading and am currently undergoing page layout and design training in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

I am accustomed to meeting challenging schedules and tackle projects with diligence and that all-important skill: adaptability.

Although I specialise in maths and science/educational publishing, I am also interested in food and wine, gardening, environmental issues, popular culture, and outdoor activities, including rowing, skiing and walking.
